Terms of Service

Welcome to the VIT Application (“App”, “Platform”, “Service”), operated by VIT (“VIT”, “we”, “us”, or “our”).

The VIT Application is an educational platform designed for students, teachers, and authorized academic personnel. The Platform provides features including class schedules, face-to-face and online classes, attendance management, assessments, assignments, student profiles, teacher class management, and other academic services.

By accessing or using the App, you agree to comply with these Terms & Conditions.

1. User Accounts

The Platform may provide separate access and functionality for students and teachers.

Students may be able to:

  • View their timetable.
  • Join scheduled classes.
  • Attend face-to-face classes on campus.
  • Participate in online classes.
  • View attendance records.
  • Complete assessments.
  • Submit assignments.
  • View their academic information.
  • Manage their profile and other available information.

Teachers may be able to:

  • View their timetable.
  • Start and end scheduled classes.
  • Manage face-to-face and online classes.
  • Record and review student attendance.
  • Create and manage assessments.
  • Create and manage assignments.
  • View authorized student profiles.
  • Review student academic activities and submissions.
  • Manage other academic activities provided by the Platform.

Users must provide accurate information and must keep their login credentials confidential.

2. Authorized Use

The Platform may only be used by students, teachers, and other individuals who are authorized by VIT.

Users must not allow another person to use their account or login credentials.

VIT may suspend or restrict access if an account is used in an unauthorized manner or in violation of these Terms.

3. Classes

The Platform supports both:

  • Face-to-Face Classes
  • Online Classes

Class availability and participation are subject to the timetable and academic arrangements established by VIT.

Face-to-Face Classes

Students attending face-to-face classes may be required to be physically present at the designated VIT campus or classroom before they can join or participate in the class.

The Platform may use applicable class, attendance, classroom, or verification mechanisms to manage participation.

Online Classes

Students and teachers may participate in online classes through the functionality provided by the Platform.

Users must join classes using their authorized accounts and must follow VIT's academic and conduct requirements.

4. Timetable

Students and teachers may access their respective timetables through the Platform.

Timetable information may be updated or changed by VIT or authorized academic personnel.

Users are responsible for checking the latest timetable information available through the Platform.

5. Class Start and End

Authorized teachers may use the Platform to start and end scheduled classes.

Teachers must use these functions accurately and only for classes assigned to them.

Students must follow the class schedule and instructions provided by VIT or the assigned teacher.

6. Attendance

The Platform may be used to record, view, and manage attendance.

Students must not:

  • Mark attendance for another student;
  • Attempt to manipulate attendance records;
  • Share their account with another person;
  • Use unauthorized methods to bypass attendance requirements.

Teachers must make reasonable efforts to ensure that attendance records are accurate.

Attendance records may be reviewed, corrected, or modified by authorized VIT personnel where necessary.

7. Assessments

Teachers may create and manage assessments through the Platform.

Students may be required to complete assessments within the specified time.

Students must follow the instructions provided for each assessment and must not use unauthorized assistance where prohibited by VIT.

8. Assignments

Teachers may create assignments and specify submission requirements and deadlines.

Students may submit assignments through the Platform.

Students are responsible for submitting their work within the applicable deadline and in the required format.

9. Student Profiles

Authorized teachers may be able to view student profiles and relevant academic information through the Platform.

Such access is provided only for legitimate academic and administrative purposes.

Teachers must not use or disclose student information for unauthorized or personal purposes.

10. Academic Information

The Platform may contain information relating to:

  • Classes;
  • Timetables;
  • Attendance;
  • Assessments;
  • Assignments;
  • Assignment submissions;
  • Student profiles;
  • Teacher information;
  • Academic activities;
  • Other educational records.

Users must not attempt to modify, falsify, or access academic information without authorization.

11. Academic Content

Educational content available through the Platform may include assignments, assessments, documents, notes, presentations, videos, and other materials.

Such content may belong to VIT, teachers, or other authorized parties.

Users must not reproduce, distribute, publish, sell, or commercially use such content without appropriate authorization.

12. Prohibited Activities

Users must not:

  • Access another user's account without authorization.
  • Attempt to bypass Platform security.
  • Manipulate attendance or academic records.
  • Upload malicious software or harmful content.
  • Interfere with Platform functionality.
  • Reverse engineer the application.
  • Share confidential academic information without authorization.
  • Misuse student or teacher information.
  • Use the Platform for unlawful purposes.
  • Use the Platform to impersonate another user.

13. Service Availability

VIT will make reasonable efforts to keep the Platform available.

However, the Platform may occasionally become unavailable due to:

  • Maintenance;
  • Updates;
  • Server issues;
  • Internet/network problems;
  • Security incidents;
  • Third-party service failures;
  • Other circumstances beyond VIT's reasonable control.

14. Account Suspension or Termination

VIT may suspend or terminate a user's access where necessary due to:

  • Violation of these Terms;
  • Unauthorized access;
  • Misuse of the Platform;
  • Security concerns;
  • Academic or disciplinary requirements;
  • End of enrollment or authorization;
  • Other legitimate institutional requirements.

15. Privacy

Use of the Platform is also subject to the VIT Privacy Policy provided below.

16. Changes to These Terms

VIT may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time.

Updated Terms may be made available through the App or associated website.

17. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by the applicable laws of India and subject to the jurisdiction of the appropriate courts, subject to applicable law.
